When you capture an enemy planet through ground invasion, the native species population survives alongside a small garrison of your own species. Both species then coexist, contributing to colony output based on their numbers and traits.
Habitability & Production
Colony habitability and production bonuses are blended across all species on the planet, weighted by their population share. A planet with mostly native species will reflect that species' affinity for the world.
Population Growth
- New population growth is distributed between species based on their habitability for the planet type.
- Your faction's species will only grow on a planet if its habitability is 50% or higher.
- Species with higher habitability receive a larger share of new growth.
- During starvation, the species least adapted to the planet loses population first.
Strategic Implications
- Capturing a well-suited enemy world preserves its productivity through the native workforce.
- Terraforming a captured world toward your species' preference may reduce native habitability.
